Club Calendar

Meetings are held at 1:00 PM on the last Sunday of every month (except September, November and December).  The general membership is welcome to attend the Board of Directors meeting, which precedes the monthly meeting at noon.  Non-members and guests are welcome to attend one or two regular club meetings before joining the club.  Generally, the host gives a brief talk about their pond, followed by a short seminar on topics related to koi health, pond building and maintenance, koi shows, etc.  Details on the latest club events (meetings, pond tours, holiday meals) are also announced .  Check back here every month for the latest info!

March Meeting - Georgia's Place!

March 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm

The March meeting will once again feature a wonderful guest speaker. Rob Barreras from Majestic Koi will join us. Rob will continue this year's theme and discuss koi selection from his perspective. Rob is well respected by his peers for his knowledge about koi. If you don't know Rob, this is an excellent opportunity to meet him.

Last month, folks asked excellent questions on a variety of topics. We want to make sure your questions are asked and answered, so we will host a question and answer session as the second part of our programs. We invite you to bring your unanswered questions to each meeting.

We ALL get new ideas, help each other and make new friendships. Come join us for a wonderful time, bring a chair and a side dish of your choice.

We look forward to seeing you.

February's Meeting - Home of Leslie and Gus!

We had a fine time at Leslie and Gus' place. Anthony Quintero of Koi Enterprise in West Sacramento talked about what to look for when selecting koi. This was very interesting. In January, Anthony was one of the presenters at UC Davis. Anthony talked about "Life Support System Function & Husbandry Within an Ornamental Koi Pond". Anthony will chatted about feeding and introduced some new options. Once again the turnout was tremendous with 30 members and guests.

January's Meeting - Home of Janet and Jose!

We want to thank our wonderful hosts, Janet and Jose for sharing their home, pond and pets. The turnout was great. Over 30 folks showed up! As always, we enjoyed excellent conversation and good eats.

This year we are focusing on learning more about Koi, how to classify them, what to look for when you shop and more. Garry Chin put on a presentation about the varieties of Koi, the color names and much more. Thank you Garry for the tremendous job on your presentation about Koi varieties. Now if we can only remember one-half of it all!

For wet months it is a good idea to have enough indoor space to squeeze 10-20 people in case of rain. For hot summer months, a shady spot is appreciated.
